Mary Iwanicki Homemaker Mass of Christian burial will held at 11:30 AM at St Mary's Catholic Church, Visalia California on Saturday, May 4th 2013 for Mary Iwanicki, 96, of Visalia who passed away at home with her family at her side. Mary was born in North Jackson Ohio on October 16, 1916, the last surviving of 10 children born to the late Nicholas and Catherine Bodnar Harrison. Mary married her High School sweetheart, the late Frank Iwanicki in 1940 and they resided in Austintown Ohio until his passing on February 14, 1993. Mary moved to Visalia California in 1998 to be near family. She loved seeing her grandchildren and spending time with them. She enjoyed her summers in Morro Bay and walking the shopping areas of San Luis Obispo. She went to the Visalia Elks Lodge #1298, almost daily to have her afternoon soda and popcorn. She called everyone there her extended family because they treated her very special, and she felt their love. Mary leaves her daughter Maryann and son-in-law Michael McPhail, whom she called "Her son Mick." Mother you were my earthly Madonna, always loving, kind, gentle, and caring. Now your place is in Heaven in the loving arms of Our Lord and His Mother Mary. Mary also leaves her grandsons David (Michelle) McPhail, Ron (Cynthia) McPhail; her great- grandchildren, Ashley (Michael ) Espinosa, Stacy (Kevyn) Hernandez; Brooke McPhail, Jennifer McPhail, Evion Mensi , Kylie (Josh) Ontiveroz and Branae Jarrell. Her great-great- grandchildren, Rylan, Ayden and Matix Espinosa, Hailey, Braxton and soon to be born Kolten Hernandez, Teagan Ontiveroz and many nieces and nephews. Mary's husband Frank Iwanicki, granddaughter Deborah Ann McPhail, Brothers Michael, Peter, John, William, and Paul Harrison and sisters Pearl Nester, Helen Corbett, Catherine Victor and Pauline Wheeler are deceased. Pallbearers are Mick and Maryann McPhail, David and Ron McPhail, Michael Espinosa and Tim Penton Our family sincerely thanks Paul Schommer MD, Travis DeVader MD, Renee Crain RN, and Kaweah Delta Hospice, for the excellent care given Mary. Per Mary's wishes there will be no calling hours. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery Youngstown Ohio.
