Richard Allen Silva Sr. Richard, age 64, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, September 14, 2013. Richard was born in Visalia, California on May 22, 1949 to Joe and Mary Silva. Richard was very outgoing and loved by all that knew him. He was a great asset to have around, he could literally fix anything. He was mechanically inclined and an inventor by nature. Richard loved fishing an did it as often as possible with his sons and nephews. He enjoyed God's beautiful backdrop to a long day of patiently waiting for the catch of the day. Residing in Tulare, Richard worked numerous jobs in the dairy and welding industry. He was a volunteer firefighter for Tulare Co. for several years. The love of his life was his loving devoted wife Christie Jane, who he married on May 10, 1969. Together they raised three children. Richard was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Mary Silva, two brothers Albert and Danny Silva and his grandson Michael Zachary Roberts. He is survived by his wife Christie Jane Silva, son Richard Silva Jr. and his wife Cynthia Silva, Son Michael Silva, daughter Debbie Pruitt and her husband Adrian Pruitt, four grandchildren Essence, Adriona, SirAdrian Pruitt, Megan Rodriguez and husband Jaime Rodriguez, three great grandchildren: Elianna, Izabella and Skyler Rodriguez, three brothers: Rev. Joe, Jim and Gilbert Silva, three sisters: Rosalie Silva, Janet Hicks, Loretta Parker and many nephews and nieces. Our greatest hope and desire is to be together again in Heaven. Viewing will be held from 12-8 p.m., Wed., Sept.18, 2013 at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare. Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thurs., Sept. 19, 2013 also at Peers Lorentzen Funeral Chapel, Tulare with burial following at North Tulare Cemetery, Tulare.
