Glennon Joseph Hellebusch, 87, Marthasville, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at his home in Warrenton.

He was born March 31, 1926, in Peers, the son of Joseph Hellebusch and wife Martha. Glennon was united in marriage May 3, 1950, to Mary Rose Ballmann, Dutzow. To this union nine children were born.

Glennon was a lifelong member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Concord Hill. He also was an honorary member of Knights of Columbus, a life member of VFW Post 2661 and member of the American Legion Post 180, Marthasville. Glennon was a life member of Veterens of the Battle of the Bulge Ardennes. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Glennon was part of the 87th Infantry and received the Purple Heart. He was a farmer and very active in his church and various other community organizations. Glennon loved playing pinnochle and bingo.

He is survived by one son, Paul Hellebusch and wife Karen, Marthasville; five daughters, Sharon Eslinger, Darlene Brewe and husband Larry. Melinda Huenefeld and husband Glen, all of Marthasville, Theresa Scherer and husband Dan, O'Fallon, and Janette Hodges and husband Shannon, Warrenton; two daughters-in-law, Suzy Hellebusch, Marthasville, and Susan Hellebusch, Jonesburg; two brothers, Leroy Hellebusch, Washington, and Lawerence Hellebusch and wife Julia, Union; four sisters, Celeste Highberg and husband Bob, Villa Ridge, Sister Linda Hellebusch, St. Louis, Ruth Ann Lamke, Union, and Bernice Kopp and husband Herb, Washington; one sister-in-law, Eleanor Hellebusch, Washington; 24 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Glennon was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Mary Rose Hellebusch; two sons, Vernon and Steven Hellebusch; an infant daughter, Linda Hellebusch; one grandson, AJ; son-in-law, Henry; parents, Joseph and Martha Hellebusch; three brothers, Clifford, Sylvester and Ardell Hellebusch; and one sister-in-law, Sally.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.

A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, April 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Concord Hill.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Ignatius Catholic Church or the American Legion Post 180, in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383.
