Of Temecula, California, died June 25, 2013 at home after a brief and sudden illness. Born in Palo Alto, California, March 24, 1929, graduated from Palo Alto High in 1947 and received a BA in History from Stanford U. in 1950. Studied psychology at a Catholic seminary, but received a Masters in History and teaching credentials from USF. Al began his career as a high school teacher, went on to the American Red Cross and various federal agencies: EEOC; VISTA; CAP; Paperwork Comm.; and the FRA. Earned a MFA from GMU in 1982 and after retirement received a divinity degree from the Unity School of Christianity in 1992. Relocated to Southern California where he led several congregations. After retirement, Al remained active in his church in Temecula. Surviving him are his children, Alfred, Michael, Mark, Robert and Ann; 10 grandchildren; three great-grand-
children; and seven step-children. He is also survived by his wife, Dolores. A memorial service will be held on July 27 at 11 a.m. at the Unity Church, 140 N. Buena Vista Rd., in Hemet, California. Ashes will be spread at Unity Village in Missouri.
