MANACK ANTHONY WAYNE MANACK Anthony Wayne Manack, 75, a long-time resident of Falls Church, Virginia, died on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Virginia Hospital Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He grew up in Rostraver, Pennsylvania, where he met his beloved wife of 50 years, Caroline Shaffer Manack who preceded him in death in 2007. A self-taught genius, Anthony worked as an Optical Engineer for Logetronics Corporation for 32 years. He travelled the world extensively and worked with NASA and the New York Times, among other notable clients, until his retirement. After retirement he co-founded Egoltronics Corporation, a recognized world leader in electronic photo-enhancement and manufacturer of dodging contact printers and enlargers. He held approximately 12 patents during his professional career. He loved his grandchildren, gourmet cooking, gardening and the outdoors. He was an active member of the Ridge Runners Club, the Lake Gaston Spinnaker Point Association, and Moose Lodge #403. He is survived by daughter Deborah Oncale Guthrie and son-in-law David Guthrie of Springfield, Virginia, and daughter Rebecca Sue Burton of Dulles, Virginia. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Andre Oncale, Marielle Oncale, and Clarice Oncale, also of Springfield; beloved companion Lois Seegren of Fairfax, Virginia, and many dear friends. A memorial service will be held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, Virginia, 22032, (703) 425-9702, on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at 1 p.m., followed by a reception for family and friends.
