Bob Crandus, long-time Washington-area businessman endowed with uncommon grace and unbounded love of family and friends, died at home in Rockville, MD, of pancreatic cancer on February 19, 2014. He was 90.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, he moved to the Washington area in 1961, where he was in the construction business for many years, before forming the Crandus Group, business brokers and consultants.
After serving in the Navy during World War II
, he attended New York University
, where he met Diane Sircus. They were married from 1948 until she died in 1978.
Surviving are a daughter, Amy, and her husband, retired Rear Admiral Rick Buchanan. of Falls Church, VA; a son, Michael, and his wife Melissa, of Las Vegas; four grandchildren, Mike and the triplets, Mackenzie, Drake and Ben, Harriette Rosen, Bob's companion since 2000, and 30 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at noon Sunday, February 23 at The Promenade, 5225 Pooks Hill Road, Bethesda MD 20814.
