CARILLON RUTH CONELLEY LEADER
Passed away on March 26, 2014 in Leesburg, VA following a battle with fronto-temporal degeneration (FTD). Carillon was raised in Upland, IN, graduated from Purdue University
, and spent her adult years living in India, England, Sri Lanka, Venezuela, and Washington, DC as the wife of a US Foreign Service Officer. Carillon was a beloved teacher of math and science at international schools overseas, students homebound with illness or injury, and adolescents in DC-area juvenile detention facilities. She enjoyed reading, corresponding with family and friends, doing handwork, and entertaining.
Carillon is survived by her husband of 55 years, James E Leader; three children, Dan Leader, Carol (Leader) Smith and Jane (Leader) Soderquist. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, two sisters, and family and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.
A private burial was held in Upland, IN on April 4. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Carillon's life on May 10, 2014 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Foundry United Methodist Church located at 1500 16th St NW, Washington, DC. For a full obituary, please visit:
