Of Remington, VA on April 14, 2014. Husband of the late Margaret "Peggy" McDonnell and father to Debbi, Kevin, Doug, Steve, Dede and Scott, and grandfather to Joe, David, Ali, Travis and Lindsey, and brother of Marion O'Brien.
After graduating from West Point in 1954, Colonel Linton served his country during a 30 year career in the U.S. Air Force until his retirement in 1984. He was a highly decorated pilot and Vietnam War Veteran, who spoke proudly but always modestly of his service to his country.
He settled in Clifton, VA with his family in 1973, where he became well-known in the community as "The Colonel". He remained there until his move to Remington VA in 1989, where he spent the next 25 years running a horse and cattle farm with his son Doug.
