Daniel (Dragan) Lapov passed away in the peaceful company of loved ones on July 14, 2014. Family and friends remember him with warmth and fondness as the kindest person, a colleague of high integrity, fun and engaging company, gently humorous, open and sharing, inclusive and generous in friendships. He is deeply missed. Born in 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio to Milija and Teodor Lapov, Dan graduated from high school in 1948, and earned his Bachelor Degree from Ohio State University
. His work as an auditor for the U.S. Government took him to Greece, India, Pakistan, Spain, England, and Turkey. He met his wife-to-be Radmila in Paris and they settled in the Washington, DC area for the next 51 years. Dan's life is remembered with joy by his wife Radmila Lapov; sister-in-law Gordana Radakovic and her daughters Ivana Radavanovic and Aleksandra Rakic with spouse Predrag and sons Nikola and Ivan, sister-in-law Miroslava and her daughter Ljubica Caldovic and spouse Hiroki Morizono and sons Takeshi, Toshio and Michio, niece Robin Tompkins and her daughter Sandra Tompkins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Church, 10620 River Road, Potomac, MD 20854 on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 7 p.m. As he wished, Dan is to be buried privately.
