Loving father, grandfather, engineer and artist, and resident of Bethesda, MD died March 9, 2013. Born March 28, 1923, in Knoxville, TN, he served in the Army
as a radio operator in the Pacific theater. Receiving a B.S. from GWU, he worked as a mechanical engineer for the Navy and the General Services Administration, retiring in 1981. Thereafter he worked as an engineer at the Smithsonian Institution, retiring for a second time at age 88. Predeceased by his wife Ruth. Survived by daughters, Carolyn Hejkal, Agatha and Julia; sons-in-law, Steve Hejkal and Franklin Hoke; and grandchildren, Ben and Forrest Hejkal, Magda and Levi Andrews-Hoke. Services, 10 a.m., March 16, St. John's Church, 6701 Wisconsin Ave., Chevy Chase, MD. Memorial gifts to Samaritan Ministry of Greater Washington.
