Of Kensington, Maryland passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 after a short illness. He was 92 years old. Frank is survived by his daughter, Christine Fisher of Potomac, Maryland; son, Richard Karas of Flemington, New Jersey; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He celebrated over 50 years of marriage with his wife, Jeanette, who passed away in 1998. Frank was preceded in death by his brother, John Albert. He served in the Army Air Corps as a navigator during World War II and over 43 years in the government, including positions at the Atomic Energy Commission and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. He was a graduate of the George Washington University. Frank enjoyed traveling the world, fine dining, photography and stamp collecting. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 4900 Strathmore Avenue, Garrett Park, MD 20896 at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 18, 2014. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in his name to the .
