TODD Lt. Col. LAZARUS H. TODD (Age 104) USAF (Ret.) Lt. Col. Lazarus H. Todd, USAR (Ret.) 104 passed away on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at the Johnson Center in Falcons Landing in Sterling, VA. Born June 29, 1909, Plantersville, AL, son of Edward Eugene Todd and Bonita Ellamay Parker Todd. Married Ray Griffin, of Centreville, AL on June 17, 1934. They had three children- daughter Ray. T. Panella, and two sons, James E. Todd, Georgetown SC, and Robert H. Todd, Denver, Colorado. He is survived by his son, James, his daughter-in-law Sandra K Todd, Granddaughters, Barbara P. Kelly, Carol DelVitto, Dawn E. Turner and four great grandchildren. He held a BS degree by University of Alabama and MS degree by Louisiana State University and was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant, USAR. His Army Active Duty included Commander CCC Camp, Commander Combat Engineer unit, Army Construction Member of the Joint Logistic Plans Committee, Joint Chiefs of Staff until 1946 and retired from USAR as a Lt. Col. in 1969. His Civil Service was the Office Chief of Engineers and the Office, DCSLOG, Department of Defense, developing and directing research in application of computer-assisted planning techniques and as Director, "Department of the Army Logistic Support Studies" DASL's. Upon leaving Civil Service, served as member of the Technical Staff of Research Analysis Corporation in conducting operations research studies in Civil and Military applications of research to National and Local Problems. Served as Chairman, Board of Trustees, Georgetown Presbyterian Church, member Board of Governors, Chairman of Plans Committee and the Greens Committee, Army Navy Country Club, Board member of Todd Construction Co. concrete construction and member of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, Clarendon, VA. A Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Fort Myer Chapel located at 204 Lee Avenue Ft Myer, Virginia 22211 with the Chaplain Jeff Payne officiating. Graveside services with full military honors and Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. After the services there will be a memorial at Falcons Landing between 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Falcon's Landing Benevolent Fund 20522 Falcons Landing Circle Potomac Falls, VA 20165.
