MARILYN SUE JACKSON
Sue Jackson died on November 14, 2013 in Indianapolis, IN, after a valiant 13 year struggle with the neurological disease, Spinocerebellar Ataxia Type 2. She was born January 27, 1941 in Brownsburg, IN and graduated from Indiana University
in 1963 with a BA in Social Work. All her life, Sue worked for the improvement of the social and employment conditions of others. She began as a social worker with terminally ill cancer patients in Denver, CO assuring their benefits and arranging housing. Sue came to Washington, DC in 1966 to work in the Poverty Program with the Office of Economic Opportunity. She enjoyed a long career in equal opportunity employment and public accommodations with the Equal Opportunity Commission and the Office of Revenue Sharing in the Treasury Department, as an investigator and supervisor. She retired in 1998 and moved to Indianapolis in 2006. She is survived by her sister, Lydia Hays Martin of Anchorage, AK; nephews, great-nieces and nephews, beloved cousins and many friends. A private celebration of her life was held in Indiana.
