Mary Frances Bradley Costello, 70, of Wallops Island, Virginia and Gulf Breeze, Florida, passed away peacefully at her daughter's Oakton home on Veteran's Day, November 11, 2013, while holding hands with her 99 year old mother. The only child of Dorothy Wells Bradley, Mary was predeceased by her father, Charles Francis Bradley, a police officer
from the District of Columbia, who was killed while serving aboard the USS Leopold during WWII. Loyal and fun-loving, Mary was deeply loved by her husband of 47 years, LtCol (Ret) Walter J. Costello, and her children, Joe Costello (Carlee) and Jeanne Costello-Davis. She will be profoundly missed by her grandchildren Colin, Patrick, and Anna Davis, and Brad, Jack, and Kate Costello. She leaves behind many special and happy memories shared with her military family, friends from Our Lady of Lourdes, Holy Cross, and Georgetown Visitation, and her very best friend (and cousin by marriage), Judy Tomaloe Render. A visitation will be held at Fairfax Memorial Home 9902 Braddock Rd. Fairfax, VA on Thursday, November 14 from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Friday, November 15 at 12 noon, with a visitation at 11 a.m. Private interment to be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
