MILMAE F. GRAY
Milmae Floyd Gray, age 96, died after suffering a hip fracture on November 12, 2013 in Arlington, VA. She was born in Seattle, Washington in 1917 and was the daughter of Dell and Agnes Floyd. She graduated from Washington-Lee High School in 1935. She attended two years at the University of Washington
and joined the Washington Alpha Chapter of Pi Beta Phi. She moved to Washington, DC when her father, an attorney, was hired by the Department of Justice. She transferred to Strayer College in D.C. and graduated in 1940. She married Bill Gray in 1943. They had three children and later divorced. During WWII
she worked in London at the American Embassy for the Office of the Military Attache' in the War Department. After the War she was transferred to their office in Oslo, Norway. Upon her return home she worked for CIG which later became the CIA, working in their Office of Current Intelligence. She retired in 1969. Afterwards she worked as a clerk in the ER at Arlington Hospital. She was very active in DAR and has been a member of the Mary Desha Chapter since 1939, serving in many capacities, including several years as chapter regent. She is survived by her daughters Lauren Suplizio and Louise Gray, and her son Lee Jack Gray; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at
1 p.m. on Sunday, November 17 at Murphy Funeral Home, Arlington, with service to follow.
