NORMAN H. DAVISON  

Died Tuesday, August 6, 2013 of cancer. Mr. Davison, a retired nuclear engineer, was born August 14, 1929 in Chicago, IL. After service in the U.S. Air Force, he attended the University of Hawaii, where he was active in theatre. He transferred to the University of Illinois and earned a mechanical engineering degree. He was employed by Convair San Diego, where he designed aircraft instruments. He then pursued a career in the nuclear field at General Atomic and the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. Subsequently he was employed in private industry for 10 years before returning to the federal government. He retired from the U.S. Department of Energy in 1994. Norman was a model airplane builder and was active in several model clubs throughout his life. During retirement, he served as a volunteer in two middle schools to perpetuate the hobby in young people. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Beatrice; two daughters, Karin D. Phelan and Lisa A. Davison. A Memorial Reception will be held on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4629 Aspen Hill Rd., Rockville, MD.
