Beloved Husband of Kathleen Haldeman and Barbara Haldeman (deceased). Devoted father of Sandi Callaway (deceased) and husband George of Charlottesville, VA; David Haldeman and wife Deb of Lincoln, NE; Karen Haldeman-Clark and husband Wes Clark of Fairfax, VA; Kathy Slayton and husband Kelly of Grand Prairie, TX. Step-children include Steve Odum, Stephanie Lusk and husband Ed, and Debbie Odum. Son of Elmer S. Haldeman and Florence G. Haldeman (both deceased) of Manheim, PA.
Brother of Barry Haldeman and wife Susan of Elkton, MD, and uncle of Elizabeth Catania and husband Kenneth of Nashville, TN.
He was also survived by grandchildren Staci Morris, Jared Groot, Alyssa, Brynna, and Barbara Cheyanne Haldeman, Jamie and Jake Clark, Shannon and Jory Slayton, Kevin Martin; step-grandchildren Christopher and Jenny Lusk; great-grandchildren Hali, Zachary and Tyler Morris, Dylan Purviance and Zach Snoddy; extended family Joyce Carter of Grand Prairie, Texas; and others from Pennsylvania, Texas and Arkansas.
He received a BS from the University of Wyoming and an MCS from Texas A&M University. During his military career he served in Vietnam, attended the Air War College and was awarded several meritorious commendations. He retired after 25 years of service. He also worked at CDSI. He enjoyed golfing at Evergreen Country Club and traveling with his wife Kathy.
A visitation was held at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, 9902 Braddock Road, Fairfax, VA on Saturday, March 23, 2013. Graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or Capital Caring Hospice.
