Robert L. Carres, Sr.

Passed away in Arlington, VA on February 24, 2014. He proudly served in our US Navy and received the Bronze Medal. He was a life member of the Masonic Lodge and a Shriner, as well as many other things. He is survived by his daughter, Marlene Welch of Boynton Beach, FL; his daughter, Wanda Thompson of Grimesland, NC and his son, Robert L. Carres, Jr. of Arlington, VA; his brother, Louis Carres; his sister, Denise De Vore; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 65 years, Gloria Carres. A memorial service will be held at the Old Post Chapel, Ft. Myer, VA, Friday, August 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. followed by interment at Arlington National Cemetery.
