On Saturday, August 2, 2014, Robert M. Alexander, Sr., died at Prince George's Hospital Center. He was the beloved husband of Audree Smith Alexander (deceased); father of Robert M., Jr., David and Charles W. Alexander; brother of Mary Eliza Alexander and Gladys Bradley (deceased). He is also survived by three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two daughters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. Alexander served during World War II as a Sergeant in the Army Air Forces/Corps, 25th Infantry Div. in the Philippines and the Army Reserves from 1950-1952 as a Lieutenant. Alexander graduated from Howard University with a B.A. Cum Laude degree in Political Science in 1951 and from Georgetown University Law School with a J.D. degree in 1955. He practiced law in Virginia and the District of Columbia for over 50 years. Alexander was a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Arlington, VA, and the NAACP. The late Mr. Alexander may be viewed on August 12, 2014 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, So. 19th and Kenmore Sts, Arlington, VA, at 10 a.m. Funeral service is at 11 a.m. Rev.
