Rose passed away June 10, 2013 in Port Charlotte, FL. She grew up in Staten Island, NY, then served two years as an army nurse in Europe in WWII. She spent most of her life before retirement with husband Bruno Albert Paras in Arlington, VA, moving to Florida in 1980, where they were active in numerous charitable and social organizations. Rose was a founding member of St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church, where she will be fondly remembered.
Rose is survived by brother, Joseph Doria; sister, Beatrice Doria; children, Charles Paras and Patricia Williams; and grandchildren, Gustin Paras, Samuel Paras and Nicole Williams.
Visitation will be Monday, June 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy's Funeral Home, Arlington. Funeral Mass, Tuesday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Arlington. Interment following at Quantico National Cemetery. Donations may be made in her name to St. Maximilian Kolbe Church, 1441 Spear St., Port Charlotte, FL 33948.
