MAJ. STEVEN THOMAS BROTHERS (Age 35)  

On Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in Bethesda, Maryland, STEVEN T. BROTHERS, beloved husband of Margaret A. Brothers passed away while surround by family and friends. He is also survived by his parents, Eugene and Priscilla Ann; grandmother, Eugenia LaShomb. Steve was a Foreign Area Officer in the U.S. Army and was awarded Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, two Army Achievement Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Central Command Badge, Senior Parachutist Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Overseas Service Bar. He also earned a Diploma with Honors from the Defense Language Institute and a Masters degree in Middle East Studies from Harvard University. Relatives and friends may call at THE MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of ARLINGTON, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA, on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. (prayer vigil begins at 6 p.m.). Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at the Old Post Chapel on Fort Myer starting at 12:45 p.m. (please allow extra travel time for security check). Full Military Honors will follow at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project
