WILLIAM RADLINSKI  

William "Rad" Radlinski, a resident of Falcon's Landing, Potomac Falls, VA, passed away on February 15, 2013 at the age of 91. Rad was born in Salamanca, NY on August 13, 1921 and married Theresa (Terry) Harmuth on August 23, 1942. He was a veteran of WW II and rose to the rank of Lt. Colonel in the US Army Reserves. He spent 30 years at the US Geological Survey where he served as the Associate Director and Acting Director during his tenure. He received the Distinguished Service award from the Department of Interior and was a member of the Cosmos Club. Mt. Radlinski, a 9020-foot mountain in Antarctica was named after him in 1963. He was predeceased by his wife, Terry, of 68 years and is survived by his sons, Richard of Queenstown, MD and Robert of Bethesda, MD; a sister, Julie Fusiara of Olean, NY; three grandsons and seven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on March 15 at 2 p.m. at Falcon's Landing with inurnment with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Falcon's Landing Benevolent Fund 20522 Falcon's Landing Circle, Potomac Falls VA 20165.
