Wendorf, Airyn Lea
Airyn Lea (Engen) Wendorf, age 32, of Chaska, MN, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at her home after a courageous 14 month battle with breast cancer.
Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2014, 11:00 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 4th and Oak Street, Chaska, with Reverend Gary Zieroth and Reverend Greg Snow officiating. There will be a Memorial Gathering on Tuesday, May 27, 4-8 PM at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 W. 3rd St., Chaska, and also one hour prior to service at the church.
Airyn was born February 21, 1982 in St. Cloud, MN, to Kurt and Kathy (Peterson) Engen, one of three children. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in St. Cloud, MN, and confirmed at Grace Lutheran Church in Apple Valley, MN. She was a 2000 graduate of Eastview High School in Apple Valley, and then earned a Health and Wellness Degree at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and was a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. She received her Nursing Degree at Inver Grove Nursing School, also making the Dean's List. She was employed at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, MN, as a RN for 8 years. On August 6, 2006 Airyn married Andrew Wendorf at St. John's Lutheran Church, Chaska. They had three daughters. She loved spending time with her family and friends, being at the family cabin on Oak Lake, and gardening. She loved the fellowship with St. John's Church, and also was a member of the ROCK group "Raising Our Christian Kids" at St. John's.
Survivors include her loving husband, Andy; daughters Abby, Ava and Audrey; parents, Kurt and Kathy Engen, of Farmington; sisters, Lindsey (Jacob) Livingston, of Anchorage, AK, Katie Engen, of Owatonna; nephew, Ayden Livingston; parents-in-law, Mashelle (Daniel) Winter, of Ringle, WI; other relatives and special friends.
Funeral arrangements were with the Bertas Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Chaska, MN.
