Jarntowski, George

George S. Jarntowski, age 93, of Wausau, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at North Central Health Care Center.

George was born on October 27, 1920 in Chicago, IL to the late Stanley and Mary Jarntowski. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during World War II from 1942-1945. He married Irene Gaulke on June 24, 1950 in Wausau.

George had many hobbies and was involved with the VFW and the VFW Honor Guard, American Legion, Battle of the Bulge, and the World War II Last Mans Club. He also loved to be out on the farm, helping his relation with fixing, repairing, and farm chores. He was retired from the former American Can Co.

George is survived by his son Gary Jarntowski; two grandsons Nicholas and Joshua Jarntowski; and sister Beverly Wiloff.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Irene, and son Dale Jarntowski.

Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 930 Edgewood Rd., Wausau. The Rev. Kemp Jones will officiate. Visitation will take place from 9:00 am until the time or service at the church on Saturday. Military honors will be performed by VFW Post #388
