Marvin 'Marv' Sievert, age 84, 1527 Cedar Ave., Tomahawk, passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff.

Marv was born January 12, 1930 in Bonduel, the son of Elmer and Alice (Nichols) Sievert. He married Elaine Marohl on June 20, 1953 at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. Marv and Elaine moved to Tomahawk in November 1955. He opened and managed a branch store for Sieg Auto Supply of Wausau. In 1965, Marv started employment with Tomahawk Paper Co., which later sold to Georgia-Pacific Corp. In 1970, he was appointed mill manager, and retired in 1991. He served on the Tomahawk Sewer and Water Board for 22 years, and was an active member of Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher and greeter, and also served on the Board of Properties. Marv enjoyed golf, ice fishing, deer hunting, and being with his family. Marv was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War from 1951 - 1953, and recently went on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.

Survivors include: wife, Elaine Sievert, Tomahawk; children, Jeff (Joy) Sievert, St. Germain, Randy (Cheryl) Sievert, Cottonwood, Arizona, Lisa McNeel, Springdale, Arkansas. Marv is further survived by five grandchildren and one great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Memorial Services for Marvin Sievert will be held at Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Rev. Mark Gass will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00. Memorials are appreciated to Redeemer Ev. Lutheran Church.
