Michael R. Bruess, 66, Kronenwetter, died on Monday, November 18, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Wausau on July 8, 1947 to the late John and Margaret (Christensen) Bruess. After graduation, he joined the US Air Force and served for four years as an air mechanic. He married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Penny Holbrook, on January 9, 1968.

He was a life-long billiards player and a member of the BCA Pool League at Mickey's. He loved spending time at his cottage and was an avid fisherman, earning him the nickname of "Musky Mike". He was a member of the Man of Honor Society and a proud veteran. He especially enjoyed his grandkids, teaching them how to fish and attending their sporting events.
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son who will be greatly missed by his wife, Penny Bruess of Kronenwetter; his son, Andy (Leah) Bruess of Mosinee; his daughter, Heather (Paul) Bartnik of Kronenwetter, and his grandchildren Kaley, Ellie and Eli Bruess and Jena and Kylie Bartnik.
