VERSAILLES, Ill. -- Barbara Jo (Meador) Funke, 64, of Versailles, passed away at 5:06 p.m. Friday (Oct. 4, 2013) in Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. She was born June 23, 1949, in Quincy, a daughter of Clyde and Wilma Graham Meador. She married Edwin M. Funke on Sept. 17, 1990, in Bridal Vail Falls, Utah. He survives. Barbara graduated from Grants High School in Grants, New Mexico. She worked for IMC Chemicals in Trona, Calif., for over 33 years. She was a member of the Trona V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Trona Elks Lodge. She always enjoyed hunting and fishing with her husband, and she especially enjoyed playing bingo. In addition to her husband, Edwin Funke, of Versailles, survivors include her mother, Wilma Meador, of Mount Sterling; two daughters, Piper Hendrix of Versailles and Sheena Mulverhill and her husband, Nicholas, of Trona; a stepson, Eddie Funke, of Trona; four brothers, Clyde, John, Alan and Daryl Meador; four sisters, Becky Meador, Gail Meyers, Melanie Brunson and Rhonda Mounds; seven grandchildren, Leanna Hendrix, Ashley and Brian Cory Brooks, Gavyn and Kyliee Mulverhill, Heidi Boykin and Jesse Funke; and one great-granddaughter, Marilyn Sophia Thatcher. Barbara was preceded in death by her father. SERVICES: Cremations rites will be accorded and memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Hendricker Funeral Home, Mount Sterling, with the Rev. Matt Haberman conducting.
