Darrell W. Peacher, 92, of 2015 Spring, died on Monday (Sept. 1, 2014) in the St. Vincent's Home. He was born on Feb. 21, 1922, in Quincy, the son of Ward and Sylvia McNulty Peacher. He married Charlene Kroner on Feb. 17, 1945. She died in December of 2001. Darrell served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church. Darrell was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and the Elks Club. He was a member of the Rotary Club and received its Paul Harris Award. Darrell was a volunteer for RSVP. He also received the Joe Bonansinga Community Service Award. He loved to play golf and was always willing to help others. Darrell is survived by two children, Dan Peacher and his wife, Joanne, of Fayetteville, N.C., and Barb Christy of Quincy; four grandchildren, Diane DeVicco and her husband, Frank, Jennifer Lozano and her husband, Eli, Alexis Coleman and Taylor Coleman; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Freeman, Olivia Korn, Keoni Broad, Daniel Peacher and Gabriel Lozano; and a sister-in-law, Rosemary Peacher. Numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Darrell was also preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dale Peacher. SERVICES: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 5, in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION: 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 4, in Duker and Haugh Funeral Home. MEMORIALS: Knights of Columbus Mass for Shut-Ins or to St. Francis Catholic Church.
