Dorothy K. Rupp, 88, of 1035 Catherine Dr., died at 1 p.m. Saturday (April 6, 2013) in St. Vincent's Home.

Born Dec. 23, 1924, in Jacksonville, Dorothy was a daughter to Ray and Florine Crane Kelly of Pittsfield. She married William Rupp of Quincy Sept. 27, 1945. He died July 24, 1981.

She graduated from the University of Illinois in 1946 with a bachelor's degree in personnel management. Dorothy was a member of Alpha Chi Omega and president of Illini Union her senior year. Dorothy was a member of the Church of St. Peter in Quincy and participated in the Adoration Chapel. She volunteered at the former St. Mary Hospital and had served as president of the St. Mary Hospital Guild.

She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, reading, traveling and social gatherings with friends and family.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane (Tom) Deters and Marty (Dale) Venvertloh of Quincy; two sons, Kelly (Beverly) Rupp of Ocean Park, Wash., and Jim Rupp of Dublin, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Kevin (Sara) Deters of Saugus, Calif., Brian (Joni) Deters of Versoix, Switzerland, Amy (Matt) Stahl of Lowell, Mass., Scott (Isa) Venvertloh of Denver, Colo., and Craig (Janet) Venvertloh, Kyle (Kimberly) Venvertloh and Derek (Morgan) Venvertloh, all of Quincy; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William; and a brother, Robert Kelly,

SERVICES: 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home, and at 10 a.m. in the Church of St. Peter conducted by the Rev. Leo Enlow. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.

MEMORIALS: Church of St. Peter or to Blessing Foundation for Hospice.
