Glen Eugene Lantz, 81, of 2106 Jefferson, died on Sunday (May 4, 2014) in St. Vincent's Home. He was born on Sept. 29, 1932, in Mount Sterling, the son of Harold E. and M. Claudine Cowen Lantz. He married Ruth Meehan on July 12, 1962, in Mount Sterling. She survives. Mr. Lantz served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from February 1951 until March 1954. Mr. Lantz was a long-time truck driver, retiring from Ruan Transport Corp. in 1991. He was a member of the Teamster's Union. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael G. Lantz and his wife, Theresa, of Quincy; grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Zanger and her husband, Sam, Michael A. Lantz and his wife, Katie, Nicholas E. "Nick" Lantz and Anthony J. "Tony" Lantz of Quincy; great-grandchildren, Eli and Wade Zanger and Addison Lantz; a sister, Mary Rosendale and her husband, Bob; and a half sister, Brenda Watts and her husband, James. Nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Wednesday graveside services will be held in Greenmount Cemetery. VISITATION: There is no visitation but friends are invited to the graveside services. MEMORIALS: Blessing Foundation for Hospice or to the Quincy Humane Society.
