Howard "Dale" Frye, 88, Quincy, died at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday (June 11, 2013) in Blessing Hospital from natural causes. Dale was a man of God, who dearly loved his family and honorably served his country. He was born May 25, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Howard and Charlotte Royer Frye. On Oct. 15, 1950 he married Wilma Gaynelle Cheatwood in Columbus, Ohio. She died Sept. 18, 2002. Dale was a graduate of Ankron High School, Ankron, Ohio, and after serving in the U. S. Navy, graduated in 1950 from the Ohio State University. He was employed by Teepak Inc. for 35 years, until his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and many other activities as well as being a volunteer at Blessing Hospital. Dale was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his three children, Karen (Alan) Frye-Boghosian of Glenview, Sandy (John) Borrowman of Barry, and Howard Dale (Erin J.) Frye of Des Moines, Iowa; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Virginia (Harold) Simpson of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. SERVICES: 11 a.m. Saturday in the Faith Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Kevin McGinnis conducting. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 37 and Illinois Military Honors Detail. Inurnment will be in Quincy Memorial Park, Quincy, at a later time.
