Louise Adele Hobbs, 83, of Quincy, died at 5:33 p.m. Tuesday (May 6, 2014) in Lebanon, Mo. Born Aug. 8, 1930, in Chicago, Louise was a daughter of Milton J. and Selma A. Muegge Williams. She married Richard A. "Dick" Hobbs Sr. on Jan. 11, 1951, in Quincy. He died Nov. 22, 2012. Louise was a member of The Crossing Church and an active member and past president of the Elks Club Women's Auxiliary. She was a well-known Avon representative in Quincy for more than 20 years. She was a wonderful wife and devoted mother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was being with her family and sitting on the beach in Destin, Fla. Survivors include three sons, Richard A. Hobbs Jr. (Yolanda) of Lebanon, Daniel V. Hobbs of Franklin, Tenn., and Dale E. Hobbs (Yvonne) of Quincy; two daughters, Dian Higgins (Rodney) of Destin and Dee Ann Wilson (Stan) of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren, Ray David Hobbs Jr. (Dessa), Brian Hobbs (Krista), Amanda Collins (Gene), Shanon Fox (Jamie), Heather Fentress (Neil), William Hobbs (Dawn), Ben Hobbs (Amelia), Mandy Brummell (George), Leanne Johnson (Cole), John Campbell (Jenny) and Lesa Barklage (Ryan); 18 great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, Brona Lu Daub (Bill), of Sebring, Fla. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ray D. Hobbs; a brother, Roger Williams; and a sister-in-law, Eileen Williams. SERVICES: A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Louise A. Hobbs will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home.
