Olin "Pete" Dobbs, 84, of Dunnellon, Fla., formerly of Quincy, died Thursday (March 27, 2014). Olin was born in Gibbs, Mo., on June 6, 1929. He achieved his associate's degree, was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a postal carrier for the U.S. Postal Service of Quincy. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon, National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, Rainbow Rivers Club, was an honorary member of Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce, a Master Gardener of the Citrus County Chapter and for the past 20 years he worked with Citrus County Fair in the Horticultural Building. Olin "Pete" will be greatly missed by many. Olin is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Annabelle, of Dunnellon; children; Kathy (Ray) Sanders of Harrison, Ohio, and Patty (Dennie) Adams of Bradenton, Fla.; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other family and friends. Olin was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Dobbs and Luella Stewart; two brothers; and two sisters. SERVICES: 3 p.m. Monday in the First United Methodist Church in Dunnellon, with the Rev. Eddie Fulford conducting. Burial will be in the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell. VISITATION: 2 p.m. Monday until time of services in the First United Methodist Church.
