WEST POINT, Ill. -- Terry "Bear" Brown, 60, of West Point, died at 2:05 p.m. Monday (Oct. 21, 2013) in Memorial Hospital, Carthage. Born Jan. 9, 1953, in Quincy, he was a son of Herbert and Clara Baker Brown. He married Bonnie Lou Marshall on March 23, 1973, in Quincy. She survives. Terry enjoyed camping, going to auctions, yard sales and working on lawn mowers. He especially loved spending time with his family and taking his grandchildren fishing. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Brown was employed as a mechanic for Maas Enterprises in Mendon for 10 years until his retirement in 2006 due to ill health. In addition to his wife, Bonnie, survivors include a daughter, Rhonda Brown (Albert Grossman) of Hamilton; four sons, Tommy Brown (Mary Griggs) and Zachary Brown, both of Quincy, Brandon Brown (Rachael) of West Point and Joe Brown (Dawn) of Basco; eight grandchildren, Joseph "Joey" Grossman, Country Grossman, Kelcy Nelson, Wyatt Brown, Cohl Brown, Alicia Brown, Anna Brown and Brooklyn Brown; three sisters, Leann Glesner (Dan) of Kemp, Texas, Josie Day of Quincy and Laretha Benfield (Dwayne) of Hickory, N.C.; a brother-in-law, Bob Christ, of Quincy; and several loving nieces and nephews. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roger Brown; and two sisters, Dixie Brown and Vivian Christ. SERVICES: 6 p.m. Saturday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home in Quincy with Larry Nelson conducting.
