Terry M. Koontz, 72, of 1306 Springdale S., died Tuesday (March 12, 2013) in Blessing Hospital. He was born June 24, 1940, in Quincy, a son of Floyd and Erma Seward Koontz. He married Karin Konkow on July 22, 1972, in Quincy. She survives. Terry was a graduate of Camp Point Central High School. He worked for Electric Wheel until its closure. Since that time, he has worked at Farm and Home Supply, Safelite Auto Glass, and was currently employed at Wood Mart. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, the Elks Club and the Quincy Boat Club. His past enjoyments included 18 years of refereeing basketball games for various high schools and colleges. In addition to his wife, Karin, he is survived by a son, David Koontz and his wife, Cheryl, of Maineville, Ohio; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Koontz, of Maineville; two sisters, Betty (Richard) Emmert of Mendon and Sharon Wharton of Quincy; and in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. SERVICES: Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday in Woodland Cemetery. VISITATION: Noon to 1 p.m. Friday in the Duker and Haugh Funeral Home.
