Mrs. Thelma E. Holcumbrink, 93, of Sunset Home, formerly of 1606 Melrose Drive, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 13, 2013) in Sunset Home.

Born Jan. 1, 1920, in Ewing, Mo., Thelma was a daughter of William and Dora Martin Dowling. She married Eugene A. Holcumbrink on Jan. 22, 1937, in Hannibal, Mo. He preceded her in death on Nov. 12, 1980.
Mrs. Holcumbrink was employed as a secretary at Monroe Elementary School for 16 years and later at Pepsi Cola Bottling Co. until her retirement.
Thelma had been active in the Jackson School PTA, where she was a past president; Women of the Moose, where she held various offices; and the Academy of Friendship. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Gary Holcumbrink (Patricia) of Quincy; a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Holcumbrink of Broken Arrow, Okla.; seven grandchildren, Judy Wiseman, Janet Tanner (Kevin), Robin West (Darrell), Stacy Hardy (Rob), Shelley Zammataro, Erica Kevane (Joe) and Michael Holcumbrink (Jennifer); 21 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Holcumbrink was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene; a son, Philip L. Holcumbrink; a brother, Leonard Dowling; and a sister, Leona Wiseman.
SERVICES: 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Rice conducting. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
VISITATION: 9:30 a.m. Thursday until the time of services in the funeral home.
