Mr. Bauch served as a mechanic and foreman for Mount Sterling Implement Co. for 46 years, retiring in 1996. Wayne was known all over western Illinois as an excellent mechanic, specializing in baler and chain saw repair. After retiring from the implement company, he worked for two years for the Elkhorn Township Road Commissioner. He then spent the next 15 years working for Deer Ridge Auto Parts, Mount Sterling.

He attended Grove School in Brown County and received his diploma from Brown County High School in May 2002.

Mr. Bauch was a veteran of the Korean War, having served his country in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Sterling. He was also a member of Mount Sterling American Legion Post 374 and a former member of the Timewell American Legion Post 1059. He was proud of having recently attended the 13th Great River Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.

Wayne especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren's many sporting events. He loved fishing, hunting, walking, and caring for his dogs and cats. He also truly enjoyed the many conversations he had with his numerous friends over a cup of coffee.
