Peter Franco, 82, of Lyme, Connecticut and Grassy Key, Florida, passed away October 12 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born in the Bronx, New York on October 26, 1930 to the late Gertrude Fabriani Franco and Peter Franco Sr. He will be remembered by his loving wife of 21 years, Margaret Sills Franco, sons Brian and his wife Patrice Benoit Franco of Barrington, RI; Norman Franco and his fianc Stephanie Topa of Charlestown, NH; and Mark Franco of Douglas, MA; step-daughter Jennifer Sills Yoxall and her husband William Yoxall of Guilford, CT; and grandchildren Siobhan Franco of Boston, MA; Luke Franco of Dover, NH; Patricia Franco of Charlestown, NH; Brenna Franco of Barrington, RI; and Billy Yoxall of Guilford, CT. He is predeceased by his former wife Betty Astone Franco and his step-mother Louise Franco. Peter was a graduate of Purdue University where he received his degree in Mechanical Engineering and The University of Vermont where he earned his MBA in business. Peter served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was the former president and CEO of Archer Rubber Company of Milford, MA from 1980 to 2006. He was part owner of Technical Rubber of New Haven and Plymouth Rubber of Canton, MA. Peter was an avid fisherman, hunter, and NY Giants fan. He also loved spending time with his two dogs, Charlie and Megan. Peter will be remembered as the patriarch of the Franco Family. He believed in the importance of family and dedicated his life to providing for his loved ones. He especially loved taking them out for a classic Italian dinner. Time spent with Peter always meant great food, great drinks, and most importantly his unforgettable stories.
