Paul F. Christopher, age 80, of Braintree, died peacefully, Wednesday, October 30, 2013, at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born, raised, and educated in Boston. He had lived in Braintree for fifteen years, earlier living in Wollaston for thirty years. Paul served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal. He worked as a laborer for many years. Paul was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time together. Beloved husband for fifty-four years of Bridget (Walsh) Christopher, he was the devoted father of Brian M. Christopher and his wife Loretta of Maryland, Thomas P. Christopher of Braintree, Catherine W. Alessi and her husband William of Abington, Ann-Marie Christopher of Braintree, and the late Michael C. Christopher; loving grandfather of Sarah, Stephen, Jessica and Bridget; Samuel, Bartholomew and Maryalice; Nicole; and Billy and Leah; loving great-grandfather of Camryn; son of the late Arthur J. and Vivian A. (Gallihar) Christopher; dear brother of Carl Christopher of Florida, Arthur Christopher, Marguerite Christopher both of New Hampshire, Sister Nancy Christopher, OFM, of Florida, and the late Corrine Christopher and Clarice Christopher. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was held from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Saturday, November 2, at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass was held in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree, at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours were at the funeral home Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment with military honors at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
