Donald Wayne "Do-Honk" Baker, 62, died peacefully Aug. 21, at his home in West Bridgewater, after a lengthy illness. Donny Wayne is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia; and his children, Jacqueline Egan and her husband William of Middleboro and Donald L. Baker and his wife Dianne of Wareham; his grandchildren, Christopher, Patricia, Danyel and Colleen; and two great-grandchildren, Bentley and Audrianna. He was the son of the late Donald and Jane Baker of West Bridgewater; brother of Cynthia Turpin and her husband John of West Bridgewater, Patricia Lewis and her husband James of Bridgewater, Jean Baker of West Bridgewater and the late Robert Baker of West Bridgewater. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews including Laurie and Paul Mullally of Easton, Leanne Wood of West Bridgewater, Lynne Turpin of East Freetown, Rachael Stevens and Christina Rogers of South Carolina. Donny Wayne was a longtime resident of both Middleboro and West Bridgewater. He was a veteran who served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He was a longtime member of the Citizen's and 49ers clubs in Bridgewater. Donny Wayne loved being a carpenter and worked up until his very last days despite his illness. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and driving in the country. Calling hours were held in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, Saturday, Aug. 24, beginning at noon and ending with a funeral service at 3 p.m. The celebration of Donny Wayne's life continued at the Citizen's Club on Hale St. in Bridgewater, immediately following the service.
