Richard E. Roque, 78 of Bridgewater died peacefully on May 25. Richard was the loving son of the late John and Mary (Silva) Roque. He grew up in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bridgewater High School. After graduation he joined the US Navy and served aboard the USS Ranger from 1957-1959. Richard was a lifelong barber and was the owner of Ricardos Barber Shop on Huntington Ave. in Boston for over 40 years, while living in the South End. He always enjoyed traveling, especially attending his Ranger Reunions and spending time in Florida. Richard was a free spirit and was known for his political banter and fun loving sense of humor. He is survived by his siblings, Virginia Duarte, Emily Stone, Madeline Moore, Adeline Ziino all of Bridgewater and Albertina Kempf of Easton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, friends and his little doggie; Sammy. He was also a twin brother of the late Robert E. Roque, and was predeceased by his other siblings; Ann Abati, Mary Braga, Joseph Roque, John Roque and Clement Roque. The Roque family also extends a warm thank you to all of the medical team and staff at both the Boston and Brockton VA Hospitals for their gentle care. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater on Wednesday, May 29 at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 103 Center St., Bridgewater at 10 a.m. . Burial will be at St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery.
