Francis Ciavarra, age 93, died Dec. 26, 2012, at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Oleshkewicz) Ciavarra. Born in Brockton, Oct. 18, 1919, he was the son of Angelo and Mary (Licursi) Ciavarra. He was educated in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1938. He served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years, as a Naval Officer. He moved to Halifax from Brockton in 1972. Frank loved playing football and was a member of the Brockton football "City of Champions" team. He had coached Rocky Marciano at youth football and also enjoyed working on stained glass and carving as a few of his favorite hobbies. He was a longtime member of the Town of Halifax Finance, School and Building committees. He is survived by his sons, Richard of Chuluota, Fla., Donald of Steamboat Springs, Colo., George of Kingston, Willam of Halifax; four grandchildren, Jeremy, Kevin, Alyssa and Brieanna Ciavarra. The visitation took place Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at the Cartmell Funeral Home, 150 Court St., Plymouth, from 4 to 7 p.m. A graveside service was held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, Monday morning at 10 a.m. Donations in his memory may be made to the
