Donald G. Haraden Obituary
Donald G. Haraden, 83, passed away peacefully following a brief illness on July 31, 2013 at Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Adams) Haraden, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage. Born in 1930 in Hamilton, MA Donald was the son of the late Rudolph and Martha Haraden. Besides his wife, Patricia, he is survived by his children: Pamela Carney and her husband Timothy of Wenham, Barbara Vitale of Hamilton, Daughter-in-law Debra Haraden of Santa Fe, NM, Nancy Goodwin and her husband Mark of Hamilton and Steven Haraden of Hampton, NH. He was predeceased by his son Donald A. Haraden. In addition, he is survived by his eleven grandchildren: Jennifer, T.J., Vanessa, Cassie, Dustin, Dillon, Dakota, Ryan, Logan, Amanda and Jack. He is survived by his brother Edward A. Haraden and his wife Ethel. He also leaves behind a close family friend Bryan Fleming. He was a lifelong resident of Hamilton. Don served in the U.S. Navy from 1947-1950. He was a Hamilton fireman for 21 years and a general building contractor. Over the years Don had many interests including golf, fishing, his vegetable garden, computer and loved his dog Sophie. Funeral Services were held graveside, at the Hamilton Cemetery, (Rte. 1A) on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 1 p.m. Relatives and friends were invited to attend. Visiting hours were at the Campbell - Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly, Sunday from 1 | 4 pm. Contributions may be made in his memory to the Donald A. Haraden Memorial Scholarship, (c/o Pamela J. Carney, P.O. Box 351, Wenham, MA 01984). This fund supports an annual scholarship given out at the Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School.
