Harold T. (Harry) Laye, Jr. of Lexington , formerly of Arlington, passed away surrounded by his family on April 25, 2014, at the age of 85. Beloved husband for 54 years to Alice N. (Fitzpatrick) Laye. He was a veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force and a 41 year employee at the Army Materials Research Agency Center in Watertown before retiring in 1991. Loving father of Deborah A. McCarthy and her husband, Cormac, of Lexington and the late Pamela J. Tinker and her husband, Eric R., of California. Cherished grandfather of Lindsay T. Tinker, Katrina J. McCarthy, Lauren I. Tinker and Justin C. McCarthy. Also survived by his sister Barbara R. Laye, of Arlington, and 25 nieces and nephews. Harry will be missed in the Lexington community. He touched many lives and will be especially remembered for his support for all Lexington sports programs for both girls and boys. . A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at St. Brigids Church on Monday April 28th and he was buried at Westview Cemetery. Arrangements made by the Douglass Funeral Home, Lexington, MA.
