Herbert William Eisenberg of Brattleboro, Vt, Formerly of Lexington, Mass. Passed away July 17th in Boston. Husband of Carolyn (Kennedy). He was predeceased by his loving wife of 30 years Melissa. He was the loving father of six children. Stephen and his wife Cate of Tyngsboro, Ma., Clyde and his wife Patti of Brandon, Fl., Melinda Paul and her husband Jim of Rockland, Ma., Bethany Zeeb and her husband Peter of Arlington, Ma. and Martha Martel and her husband Carl also of Arlington Ma., and Peter and his wife Dina of Oakland, Ca. Herbert was most proud of his 11 grandchildren with whom he spent much time. He was a veteran of WWII proudly serving on a ship in the Pacific. He was a graduate of MIT. Herbert was the president of Eisenberg, Haven and Smith Architects and was in practice for over 50 years. In the 1950s Herbert was Vice President of the National Student Association and was a tireless crusader for a better world. He was active in Lexington politics and pushed for the first affordable housing Lexington offered in the 1970s. Herbert particularly enjoyed spending time at the family farm in Vermont. Calling hours at The Douglass Funeral Home 51 Worthen Road, Lexington, Mass on Monday July 22, from 4pm to 6pm followed by a Memorial Service at 6 Pm. Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend.
