Paul A. Caragian Obituary
Paul A. Caragian, 67, of Dennis, MA, died peacefully at home with his loving wife, Katie Caragian, by his side on Friday, July 18, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 27, 1946 in Marlborough, MA, Paul was the son of the late Apostolos (Toby) and Victoria (Vicki Greska) Caragian. He graduated from Marlborough High School where he served as senior class president and was recognized as a star football player. After high school, Paul attended East Coast Aerotech and worked as an airplane mechanic in New York. In 1967 he enlisted in the US Army and proudly served until he was honorably discharged in 1970. He returned to Marlborough to follow in his fathers footsteps working as a talented carpenter for 40 years. Committed to excellence, his work motto was always just do it right, no shortcuts. For years, Paul enjoyed boating on Cape Cod and in 1999 purchased a second home in Dennis where he did things he loved most. Combining his carpentry and gardening skills, he transformed his getaway into a dream retirement home that captures the beauty and serenity of life on the marsh. Paul leaves his wife of 22 years, Kathleen (Katie Purcell), aunts Eva Slobodzian of Connecticut and Constance Stergion of Missouri, his uncle Adam Greska and wife Laura of Hudson, MA, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. His wife would like to extend a special thank you to Pauls childhood buddies who visited Paul regularly to reminisce about the good old days and to the wonderful oncology staff at Cape Cod Hospital for their professionalism, care and support they provided on each and every visit. Memorial services will be private. Donations in Pauls memory may be made to Cape Cod Hospitals Davenport Mugar Cancer Center, 27 Park Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.
