Rita M. Albrecht Obituary
Rita M. (Kelley) Albrecht, 100, of Winchendon, formerly of Southborough, MA. died peacefully Wednesday morning March 12, 2014 at home after a brief illness. Rita was born in Marlborough, MA. March 4, 1914, daughter of the late Dennis J. and Alice D. (Mahoney) Kelley, and has lived in Winchendon the last 25 years. Her beloved husband, George W. Albrecht Sr., died in 1990. Rita graduated from the Framingham Normal School, now known as Framingham State University, with her teaching degree. She worked as a first and second grade school teacher at the Mitchell School for the City of Marlborough for many years. Rita was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and in 1960 was named teacher of the year. Rita enjoyed playing most seasonal sports in her younger years, and she loved dancing, music, and her chums. Rita (Nana) was devoted to her family and she gave selflessly to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her love of all children, her belief in giving children a first rate education and her wish to make this world a better place for all children. Rita will be sadly missed by her son Jeff Albrecht and his wife Pamela Sparling, her grandchildren, Kelly and his wife April, and Mercedes, Dylan, Silas and Dayna Khan, her great grandchildren, Nova, Ember and Ayda and her son George W. Albrecht Jr., and his partner Leslie Anne Turley and Leslie's son Jason and many nieces and nephews and friends. Rita was predeceased by seven siblings: John F. (Fran), Mary, Arthur, Alice, Dennis, Gerry and Eddie. The Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anne Church in Southborough, MA. March 29, 2014 at 11:00 AM. (Father Conrad Pecevich). Burial at the Rural Cemetery Southborough will follow the church service.
