Wayne E. Coleman, 82, of Elkton, VA left us on August 22, 2013. Beloved husband of Carol (Hellmann) Coleman. Beloved father of Candice of Prescott, AZ, Christopher (deceased), Kevin of Littleton, NC, Kyle of Manhattan, NY, Courtney of Oakland, CA and stepson Patrick of Phoenix, AZ. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jaime Coleman of Eureka, CA and Michael and Steven of Littleton, NC. Born August 6, 1931 in Raymond, MN, Mr. Coleman was the son of James and Blanche (nee Rutherford) Coleman and the older brother of Stanley and Dennis (both deceased) and sister, Mary. He graduated from Superior High School, Superior, WI. From 1952-56 he served in the U.S. Airforce as a Sr. Aircraft Loadmaster, crewmember assigned to the Military Air Transport Command. He attained BA/BS Degrees from the University of Wisconsin and pursued post graduate studies at the University of WI and UCLA. His long professional career included positions in the aerospace industry at Douglas Missiles, Santa Monica, CA, as Sr. Engineering Publications Writer (1959-62), as head of Systems Analysis Group at TRW Systems, Redondo Beach, CA (1962-67) and as a Senior Associate and Principal Consultant for Harbridge House, Boston, MA (1967-79). From 1979-86, Mr. Coleman served as director of Corporate Information Systems for Towle Manufacturing, a silver and giftwares company, in Boston, MA, and he was Director of Marketing and Sales at New England Computer Solutions, Norwood, MA from 1986 through 1991. Subsequently he worked for America West Airlines as a computer and communications systems consultant and as a representative for The Prudential. In 1994, Mr. Coleman relocated to Fountain Hills, AZ where he met and married wife Carol in 1996. He was Western Sales representative for JEMCO Advertising, producer and designer of advertising materials for the hospitality industry. While in Fountain Hills, he was a member of the Fountain Hills American Legion Post 58, and served as Post Commander from 1998-99. A Resurrection Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at Holy Infant Catholic Church, 101 W. Marshall Avenue, Elkton, VA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sentara Hospice Services, 2010 Health Campus Drive, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
