Elaine G. (Greenlaw) Leonard, 91, a longtime resident of Stoughton, died peacefully at her home in Franklin Saturday, Dec. 28, surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Leonard. Born in Melrose, she was a graduate of Melrose High School and attended IBM School. Mrs. Leonard was a homemaker who served in the U.S. Coast Guard and was a veteran of World War II. In her free time, she enjoyed square dancing, ballroom dancing, reading and spending time with her family. She was a volunteer for Red Cross Bloodmobile and was recognized as a member of the Stoughton Association of Exceptional Citizens. Mrs. Leonard is survived by her children, Dorothy Leonard of Springfield and Robert G. Leonard of RI. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara J. Chaperon. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Toby Chaperon and his wife Regina, Ryan Chaperon and Shelley Chuplis; and her great-grandchildren, Alexis and Noah Chaperon. She was the sister of Edward E. Greenlaw and his wife Evelyn of NH and the late Parker M. Greenlaw. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral was held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rte. 27), Stoughton, Friday, Jan. 3, at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church, Stoughton, at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours were Thursday from 4-7 p.m. Burial in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
