Devan Marie Dolabany, age 24, of Norwell, passed away on Nov. 2, 2013. Beloved daughter of Dana and Jolen (Schmauss) Dolabany. Loving sister of United States Marine Corporal David J. Dolabany and his wife Suzanna and their children, Ethan and David John of North Carolina, and Lisa (Dolabany) McGuire and her husband Matthew of Newton. And beloved of extended family members Nancy Allen and Stewart Broder. Beloved niece and god-daughter of Patrick J. McEntee and his wife Ellen and sons Taylor, Kyle and Ryan of Castle Rock, Colorado. Granddaughter of Lillian Dolabany. Niece of Susan Dolabany of Walpole, and god-daughter and niece of Sue and Denis Dolabany and family of Norwell, and Patrick and Lyn Mosesso and family of Foxboro. Devan was a graduate of Norwell High School, and attended Smith College and Harvard University. She was an enthusiastic and devoted volunteer of the Scituate Animal Shelter. Her colleagues described her as a treasured and valuable member of the volunteer team whose spirited approach to advancing the work of the shelter made her admired and loved by all. A Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, Nov. 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Church, 10 Summer St., Cohasset. Visiting hours was on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 4 - 8 p.m. in McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthony Church), Cohasset. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations to honor Devan may be made in her name to Scituate Animal Shelter, 780 Chief Justice Cushing Highway, Scituate, MA 02066.
